About Cesar Medeiros

Cesar Medeiros is a Brazilian abstract artist whose work explores the expressive power of color, form, movement, and contrast.

Painting since 2001, Cesar has developed his work through an intuitive and spontaneous process rather than through predetermined compositions. He allows colors, shapes, lines, and textures to interact and evolve on the canvas, with each decision influencing the next. Over the years, his work has received multiple awards in juried exhibitions in Venice, Sarasota, and Anna Maria Island, Florida.

For Cesar, abstraction is fundamentally about freedom—the freedom to create without being constrained by recognizable subjects, and the freedom for each viewer to experience a painting in a personal way.

He deliberately avoids assigning narratives or fixed meanings to his work. Instead, he invites the viewer to simply look, react, and feel.

“Does the painting make you feel something? If it does, that feeling is its meaning.”

Originally from São Paulo, Brazil, Cesar lived in the United States for more than two decades, an experience that became part of his personal and artistic journey. He now lives and paints in Brazil.

Each painting is an original work created on gallery-depth canvas. The edges are finished in a complementary color or continue the composition around the canvas, allowing the work to be displayed with or without a frame.
